Winter Wonderland, and it's only October!!

Winter is most definately here to stay. Matt got home from California last night, so we stopped by the store on the way home and bought the kiddos sleds. So of course we had to test drive them today. The kids had a blast, the all took turns trying each others sleds and Matt is going to get the makings for hot chocolate right now. I also finished Brynn's pumpkin so I only have 2 to go!! I just thought I would share the pics! Sorry there aren't any close up ones of Bryson but he refused. He only wanted action shots! Then the camera died from the cold so I wasn't able to get anymore! But we had a great time! Wish you were here!!

Our House

So here's a pic of our house, and the snow! Brrrr it's a lovely 12 degrees here today and snowing! Makes me want to pick up Matt at the airport that much more! I feel pretty yucky today as well and poor Max is miserable! The roads are aweful up here all that white behind the jeep, that's the road! The sad thing is that's a good road, most are all ice! Well ice cover with dirt! Not a whole lot is new here! Got one of the pumkins carved, just 3 more to go! Hope all is well with everyone! I miss Michigan!! Salting the roads rocks, who cares if the cars rust out, at least the roads are clear!!

Ice Fog, what the heck?

So this moving to Alaska is an adventure for sure! Last nigh I had my first driving experience with ice fog! What is ice fog you ask? Well you all know what fog is, so imagine it frozen. It crystalizes and it's almost like driving through a really fine snow. It looks like a really thick frost when it's on the ground but it covers everything including the roads! It's really interesting, I wish you all could see it! So this was our experience driving Matt to the airport last night! He made it safe and sound to California for his 7 level training. So I have a whole 2 weeks by myself. I was thinking I should not clean the whole time Matt is gone, and expect him to clean it as that is what I returned to when I got back from Michigan! I wanted to cry! But I don't think I can do it! It would make me crazy! Besides after a week I'm still not caught up! Can you imagine if I went another 2!!! Well I have alot to do today! I have to clean and study! If I can find the energy! Hopefully the drs. will figure out what is going on with me so I can go back to being human again!!

Suprise!!

So as most of you now know, Max and I made the loooooong trip to Michigan! We left Alaska on September 30 at 1am. That was a feat in itself. We had a sick puking boy and a snow storm to drive through! I made Matt take me to the airport 5 hours early so he wouldn't have to drive in the freezing rain! Then we waited until 12:30 boarded the plane and away we went!! Max was a good little traveler sleeping most of the 14 hour trip! My bestest friend in the whole wide world Miranda, picked us up at the airport and took us home to my parents! That was too much fun! They had no idea we were coming, and what a suprise it was! The look on my mom's face was worth every cent of the ticket price! Max got to meet his papa for the first time too! He had a great time with Grandma Bauer and took to her really quickly, which is not like Max at all! I think my favorite part of the trip was when Max meet my sweet little great grandma, so his great- great grandma! not to many little ones have a great- great gram! I would think that Max's favorite pat of the trip was going to my Dan and Ann's house and meeting Bailey and Marissa. It was so cute they "talked" back and forth! Coo's and squeals galore! It was nice that Grandma D was able to go as well! I think she got a kick out of them! I really enjoyed seeing their house as well! It turned out beautiful! We also had a great time going to Quinn and Jade's basketball games! Those 2 are awesome! I also got to see my great Aunt Sue, and Aunt Janie and Uncle Pete, all at different times but I didn't want to forget about them!! I spent a day shopping with my sister in law Angela, and then Angela and Mike came over that evening for dinner(thanks Matt) and a movie! It was really nice seeing them and getting to know Angela a little better! It was also fun compairing notes on the Kangas' brothers! he he he!! Kerri flew up on Friday from Florida to meet Max and hang out which was really nice! The day before I left Max and I went to Uncle ReeRee's(Ryan) birthday party at grandma B's house. I got to see his kids and wife Sue who got Max a really cute boy doll and towel set(THANKS), and my Aunt Jill, and meet her new man too! Amy, Erik and Quinn were there as well! Than to finish the day all my siblings were at my mom's house along with Kerri's man Farmer Dan and Rachie's boyfriend BJ who I FINALLY got to meet, after hearing about him for over a year!! What a trip! WE also had a scare on the way home our 2nd flight ended with firetrucks and ambulances lining the runway, waiting for us to arrive! Needless to say I won't be flying again anytime soon! But it was nice seeing everyone we did and for anyone we missed, we'll catch ya next time.
